One of the tools or techniques I routinely apply in my work is using text, whether cut up typography from advertising, snippets of poetry, or scrawled lyrics, conversations, and graffiti.
I often write within a painting so that the script is only partially legible, and sometimes I invent or make up gestures and mimic writing so that no words can be determined at all.
Asemic writing is a technique of writing that does not have a symbolic methodology- wordless words, you could say.
Here, in this piece, I focus entirely on scrawling three words over and over so that they create an abstract pattern. The message isn't obvious until you look carefully and closely. "I want you". Sometimes we shroud our want because it is inappropriate, and sometimes because a secret is delicious. Sometimes the feeling is beautiful but cannot be realized.
